Lesson 827

(Lesson 827)(12-01-13) Today's lesson comes from Matthew 20:17-19;

"And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again."

In this very short lesson, Jesus explains His, soon to come, soul redeeming ordeal. This short text starts to ball rolling toward the most blessed and important event the world has ever known. By the fulfilling of this statement, Jesus secured everlasting life for all who will simply place their faith in Him and accept His loving grace.

"As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:14-15)~
