(Lesson 4759) (02-14-25) Romans 15:1-3
“We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.”
In today’s quote, Paul encouraged those who are strong in faith to bear with the weaknesses of others and not doing it to bring attention to themselves. He urged believers to encourage their neighbors for the good of those neighbors. Paul reminded us that even Christ did not seek to please Himself, quoting Scripture that says, "The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me," emphasizing Christ’s selflessness as an example for believers to follow. ~
