Lesson 4362

 (Lesson 4362)(01-11-23) Luke 10:22-24

All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.”

Today’s quote relates the idea that the disciples were living in a time of special divine revelation and fulfillment of prophecies. They had the very unique privilege of being present during the ministry of Jesus, getting to see the miracles firsthand, and to hear his teachings firsthand. That experience set them apart from even the Jewish leaders of the past who anticipated and longed to witness the events that would come to unfold in Jesus' time. It also conveys a sense of blessing and responsibility associated with the disciples' role in the unfolding of God's plan through the ministry of Jesus.~
