(Lesson 4330)(12-08-23) Luke 7:31-32
“And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like? They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.”
In today’s quote, Jesus berated the leadership of the Jews and compared them to children playing in a public place. They were too wrapped up in their own misguided vices to understand the earth shaking importance of John’s message that they should prepare for the coming of the Messiah.
Sadly, that same comparison applies to many “Christians” today.~
