Lesson 4249

(Lesson 4249)(09-09-23) Mark 10:17-18

“And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.”

In today’s quote, Jesus said, “there is NONE good but one, that is, God.” That statement flies directly in the face of those who contend that one must live above sin after (supposedly) trusting in Christ.

Jesus included Himself in the “none” group. He, even being the only begotten Son of God,  could not call Himself good, because, He too, had the curse of Adam’s sin inborn in Him from the humanity of Mary, His mother.

In living a perfect, sin free, life and carrying His own innate condemnation to the grave, Jesus also buried the innate sin and condemnation of all those who will come to believe in Him.

What an awesome Lord we serve.~
