Lesson 3741

 (Lesson 3741)(04-16-22) Romans 11:17-21

“For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.”

Today’s quote is a warning to the Gentiles. Therein, Paul makes it clear that the disobedience of the Jews allowed for the Gentiles to be extended the saving grace of God and to be taken into the fold of the chosen.

Now, being among the chosen, it is the duty of ALL who believe to obey the commandments that Jesus Christ has left for us.

Mark 12:29-31, “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, “The Lord our God is one Lord:And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”~
