Lesson 2991

Lesson (2991)(03-08-20) 2 Timothy 2:22-26
“ Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

If only all those who profess to be the children of God would follow these simply instructions, what a powerful influence the church oculd have.
There is one instruction within today’s quote that deserves special attention, applying, probably more so today than in Paul’s day, because it is the primary reason that we should continually study. That instruction being, “But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.”
The vast majority of the misleading, supposed, contradictions that some imply the New testament contains, were put forth by those whose sole intent was to destroy the integrity of the God’s word. We, as the children of God, should listen to no one when it comes to the true and detailed intent of what is written. We should ALL, with the unwavering help of the Holy Spirit, constantly establish and affirm what we believe by conducting our own research. God’s word is there in the bible but the word must be “rightly divided”.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)
