Lesson 2045

(Lesson 2045)(06-08-17) 1 Corinthians 3:16-20

"If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain."

Today's lesson advises the children of God that nothing they do is hidden from God. Our bodies are the very temple of God, and our lives are meant to be the service of that temple. We should reflect nothing but the truth in Christ in every thing we do.

Although we, the children of God, being fully redeemed from sin, are "justified" in all our earthly actions, we are still responsible to the judgment of Jesus Christ for all those actions, whether they be good or bad. We, the body of Jesus Christ, (The church) are the only representatives and demonstrators of the imputed goodness that comes through the acceptance of blood the of Jesus Christ. We should, therefore, NEVER mar the appearance of the "temple".~
