(Lesson 2016)(05-10-17) Romans 11:22-24
"Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. iFor if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?"
Today's quote relates how God's treatment of the Old Testament Jews was to the eventual great benefit of the Gentiles.
God made an example of the Jews by allowing them to demonstrate that mankind is incapable of living a sin free life worthy of eternal redemption from the death sentence that was imposed on Adam for his disobedience in the Garden.
The ultimate irony of this lesson is that even though Paul made that fact vividly clear, the vast majority of so-called Christians today still contend that one must live a perfect, sin-free life in order to maintain ones eternal salvation, OR be faithful to ask forgiveness for every sin we commit. That contention flies directly into the face of bible scripture; "grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." (Ephesians 4:30 in part) If were are indeed, as I most certainly believe the saved are, "sealed unto the day of redemption", then there is NO WAY that seal can be removed. Therefore, once we have believed in the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ and He has given our souls over to the securing of the Holy Spirit, our lives here on earth have NO bearing on our eternal redemption.
The sins of those who have believed in Jesus Christ have been JUSTIFIED and are no longer charged as "sin" against our reborn spiritual beings. "WHOSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD DOTH NOT COMMIT SIN; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." (1 John 3:9)~
