(Lesson 1675)(05-11-16) Mark 12:35-37
"And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David? For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly."
Today's quote is a short one but a very important one. Herein, Jesus gave proof through the history of king David's own words, that He, being both the Father and the Son, was present from the beginning , even during the time of David. Yet by being born to Mary in a man's body, He is also the son of David by lineage.
The point of the lesson is that Jesus is God born in to the body of a human man by a virgin woman, Mary, through the lineage of king David, as the prophecies had previously declared.~
