"And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father."
In today's quote, for the first time, Jesus mentions the Gentiles as soon to become part of His "sheep". Jesus said; "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."
This affirms that upon the completion of the supreme sacrifice of Jesus Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection, the saving grace of God would be extended to both Jews and Gentiles alike.
There are many "Christians" today who contend that the Jews still hold a special place in the heart of God. This lesson, however, disproves that contention in that the Gentiles are now also included with those who are protected by the great shepherd, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God.~
