“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”
In today’s lesson, Jesus promised to send a “Comforter” in His absence. The Comforter, God did indeed send, is the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ Himself. With the power of the Holy Spirit, as yesterday’s quote confirmed, we are able to do all things. The catch is, sadly, that many of us don’t have sufficient faith. ~

(Lesson 2684)(04-29-19) John 14:12-15
“ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
Today’s lesson assures those of us who have believed in Jesus Christ that, for us, the power of prayer is limitless. In today’s quote, Jesus specifically promised that whatsoever we might pray for in His name, we WILL receive. We hold this miraculous power yet, sadly, very few of us have the faith to fully exercise it.The strength of our faith is the key to all things always, and the lack thereof is our failure.~

Lesson 2683
(Lesson 2683)(04-28-19) John 14:1-11
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.”
In the first part of today’s lesson, Jesus assures those of us who believe in Him, that He is gone to prepare our home in heaven.
In the middle of the quote, Jesus again reassured His apostles that He and God the Father are one in the same.
In the last part, Jesus told His apostles that if they couldn’t believe in Him as being both the Father and the Son, they should believe in Him simply because of the miraculous works that He had done.
I believe in Jesus as both God the Father, and God the Son because He has shown Himself to me in His divine word and by ALWAYS answering my prayers in a way so as to assure me that He is.~

In this lesson, Jesus correctly prophisied that, even though he promised to “lay down his life, for Jesus, Peter would betray Him three times as Jesus was being judged by the Jews.

Lesson 2681
(Lesson 2681)(04-26-19) John 13:33-35
“Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”
In today’s quote, Jesus made an astounding announcement, the importance of which is, sadly, so very often overlooked and not taught by today’s so-called bible scholars. Therein, Jesus said, “A NEW commandment I give unto you, THAT YE LOVE ONE ANOTHER; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another’.
As it pertains to many of those so-called scholars, it is my opinion that they overlook that announcement so as not to undermine their predetermined, and erroneous contention that Christians are to strictly abide by the old laws of the Jews, namely, the Law of Moses.
The fact that this NEW second commandment along with the “first and great” commandment, superseds all the old laws, is proven by what was written about this same series of events in Matthew 22:37-40; Wherein “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
As is made clear in the Matthew quote all the laws of Moses and the prophets hinge directly upon the two NEW commandments. That means that if we simply love God with all that we are, and love all people as we love ourselves, we, in effect, have obeyed the NEW commancments that Jesus imparted to His apostles.~

“Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.”
Today’s short quote confirms that God the Father was that day glorified, and would be glorified further, when Jesus submitted Himself to be put to death as the sacrifice for all sin.
There is no way to count the value of what Jesus did for those of us who believe in Him.~

When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him. For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor. He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.”
Today’s quote relates that after having been pointed out by Jesus, as His betrayer, Judas Iscariot left the table to give Jesus up to the Jews.~
