Lesson 5096

 (Lesson 5096)(01-14-26) Matthew 7:21-23

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

In today’s quote, Jesus warned that religious activity, good works, nor simply claiming His name are not enough achieve eternal salvation, teaching that only those who truly know Him by faith and live under God’s saving grace through Jesus Christ will enter heaven. ~

Lesson 5095

 (Lesson 5095)(01-13-26) Matthew 7:15-20

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”

In today’s quote, Jesus correctly warned that many false teachers would appear, saying that we will recognize them by the heresies they teach. He said that “by their fruits we’ll know them”. Just as Jesus said, false teachers are widespread far more today than they were during His ministry. ~

Lesson 5094

 (Lesson 5094)(01-12-26) Matthew 7:13-14

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

In today’s quote, Jesus warned that eternal life is found only through the narrow way, teaching that few will enter salvation because there is only one true path, and that path is through faith in Him alone. ~

Lesson 5093

 (Lesson 5093)(01-11-26) Matthew 7:12

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

In today’s quote, Jesus taught the Golden Rule (love thy neighbor) as a summary of the Law and the Prophets, emphasizing righteous conduct under the existing Jewish Law, since He had not yet completed His mission as the sacrificial Savior that would establish Christianity and the new law of faith in His death, burial, resurrection and ascension. The new law by which our souls are saved today. ~

Lesson 5092

 (Lesson 5092)(01-10-26) Matthew 7:7-11

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receivethand he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"

In today’s quote, Jesus told His people to pray knowing that their prayers will ALWAYS be answered if the answer to the prayer falls within are within His will. It is my opinion that we should pray for what we want just one time then turn it over to God. He will NEVER forget our prayers and if we keep praying for the same thing over and over, we are demonstrating a lack of faith. ~

Lesson 5091

 (Lesson 5091)(01-09-26) Matthew 7:6

“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.”

In today’s quote, Jesus warned against giving sacred teachings to those who don’t understand them, and will only reject, mock, or abuse them. In this lesson, Jesus is telling us to avoid preaching to those who will only reject the truth, no matter what the truth is. ~

Lesson 5090

 (Lesson 5090)(01-08-26) Matthew 7:1-5

“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.”

In today’s lesson, Jesus warned against judging others hypocritically, teaching that people should first examine and correct their own faults before criticizing anyone else. We can never know the conditions under which other people live their lives; Therefore, we should leave ALL judgment to God. This is another lesson that we, today, are most guilty of neglecting. ~
