Lesson 5001

 (Lesson 5001) (10-10-25) 1st John 2:1-13 

   “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.” 

 

    Today’s quote teaches that Jesus is our advocate when we sin and that true believers demonstrate their faith by obeying God’s commands. Those who claim to know God through Jesus Christ, but don’t follow His teachings, are lying to themselves. We, the children of God, are called to love one another, since that love shows that we walk in God’s light, while hatred keeps a person in darkness. In simple terms: Jesus defends and justifies us before God, while our faith is shown by obeying Him and living in love of one another, rather than hate. ~ 

 

Lesson 5000

 (Lesson 5000) (10-09-25) 1st John Chapter 1 

   “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” 

 

    Today’s lesson explains that John and the other apostles shared what they personally saw and heard about Jesus so that others could have fellowship with them and with God. It teaches that God is the ultimate pillar of righteousness and that there is no darkness in Him; Therefore, if we are truly His, we must live in truth, not pretending to be sinless under any circumstance. If we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive and cleanse them because of our faith in Jesus Christ. In essence: the lesson says that real faith means living honestly before God, walking in His light, and trusting Jesus for forgiveness and having a genuine relationship with Him. ~

Lesson 4999

 (Lesson 4999) (10-08-25) 2nd Peter 3:11-18 

   “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 

 

   Today’s lesson urges us to live holy and godly lives as we wait for the day of the Lord, when the heavens and earth will be destroyed and replaced with a new heaven and earth wherein all things are righteous. Peter encourages us to be diligent, peaceful, and blameless in all things. He warns that some by intent and some by misunderstanding, twist Paul’s writings and other scriptures to their own benefit and eventual destruction. The chapter closes by urging us to stay firm in our faith and grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. In simple terms: live faithfully, stay alert, and keep growing in Christ while waiting for God’s promised new creation. ~
