Lesson 4388

 (Lesson 4388)(02-06-24) Luke 12:13-22

And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.”

In today’s quote, Jesus then instructed His disciples not to be preoccupied with material needs but rather to seek God's kingdom. Jesus stressed the futility of amassing earthly wealth and the importance of faith in God.~

Lesson 4387

 Lesson 4387)(02-05-24) Luke 12:11-12

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.”

In today’s quote, Jesus assured us that if, and when, we as believers, encounter trouble in our lives, the Holy Spirit of God will be our strength and our guide advising us with what to do and what to say.~

Lesson 4386

(Lesson 4386)(02-04-24) Luke 12:8-10

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.”

Jesus instructed His followers to defend Him to others, promising that, if they did, He will defend them before God when the Judgment comes. Likewise, He promised that He will ignore those who deny Him when they come to face the wrath of God. He warned against blaspheming the Holy Spirit, a sin that won’t be forgiven. (I believe that to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, is to deny Him.)~

Lesson 4385

(Lesson 4385)(02-03-24) Luke 12:6-7

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”

In today’s quote, Jesus reassured His disciples that God cares even for the smallest birds. He emphasized the much greater value of mankind. He assured them that God knows and values each individual hair on their heads. He encouraged trust in God's providence and His loving, fatherly concern for His children.

Lesson 4384

 (Lesson 4384)(02-02-24) Luke 12:4-5

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”

In today’s quote, Jesus advised His disciples not to fear those who have the power to kill the body but who have no power over the soul. Instead, they should fear God, who has power over both body and soul. Jesus emphasized the significance of God's authority over all things, and the eternal consequences for those who choose to ignore it.~

Lesson 4383

(Lesson 4383)(02-01-24) Luke 12:2-3

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.”

In today’s quote, Jesus warned that all things that are hidden will be revealed. That nothing can be hidden from God. He advised His followers to speak truthfully and openly in all their conversation. This underscores the inevitability of truth coming to light and the importance of sincerity in all things.~
